OMBAC 29th Annual Classic Longboard Surfing Contest

UPDATE: Things area little different this year as we don't have a cottage for staging and judging.  

There will be a "committee meeting" the night before the OMBAC Classic Longboard Surfing Contest Friday, September 15th at The Local PB (809 Thomas Ave, San Diego, CA 92109)  5:00 - 8:00 pm. As always, there'll be plenty of food hosted by DaKines, with drinks available for purchase at the Local.  We will be out on the patio so kids are allowed until 9PM.  If you know you're coming, drop me a line so I have a general idea of numbers; on the other hand, there's nothing wrong with just dropping by. Questions, send Chad Baker an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. Important Times:

Beach check-in 7:00AM to 7:30AM

First heat paddle out 8:30AM

The contestant entry fee includes a contest t-shirt and lunch for the surfer.

Separate divisions for Open, Wahine, and Menehune (youth 16 years old and under)

The contest is an opportunity for surfers and their vintage surfboards to gather for a nostalgic competition that has become more of an event than a contest.

All contestants surf on 1969 or older longboards, 9′ or longer, with no leash.

T-shirts and other OMBAC surfwear will be available for purchase at the contest.

Contestant Entry Fee – $30 pre-register or $40 day of.

Official OMBAC Surf Contest Apparel will be available for sale at the event.
